Israeli jet fighters responded to the firing of two rockets from the Gaza Strip early Monday morning, attacking the launch sites and according to the military, the squads that launched the rockets. One of the rockets headed toward the coastal city of Ashqelon was intercepted by the Iron Dome defense system. There were no injuries or damage reported. The rocket attack followed the launching of two mortar rounds that landed in Israel on Sunday.
