Russia Finds another Middle Eastern Customer for S-400 System in Qatar

Russia apparently has a new customer for its S-400 anti-missile defense system. The system has been sold to Syria despite protests by Israel; and it’s going to Turkey in a controversial sale that critics say undermines NATO’s traditional consistency and uniformity. Now Qatar, which is at odds with its neighbors in the Arabian Gulf region, is being wooed by Russian military contractors to purchase the system. The Russians sell by example, having deployed the system in Syria to protect their own assets there. NATO member nations are not happy with the Turkish interest in the S-400, fearing Ankara could compromise important armament including the new F-35 stealth bomber if it has access to both the Russian equipment and the Russian equipment.
