Saudi King Visits Britain

Queen Elizabeth II feted Saudi Arabian King Abdullah at a state dinner in London on Tuesday. Abdullah’s visit is the first by a Saudi monarch in more than 20 years. In her remarks the Queen lauded the Saudis for their "role in the search for a peaceful solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict," and the king personally for "Your Majesty’s own personal contribution through the Arab Peace Initiative." In his remarks Abdullah called on Muslims living in the UK "to be honest and upright Muslims and worthy British citizens, striving to build and construct so that they may convey the true image of the principles of Islam – those eternal principles of love, mercy and moderation."
