Saudi-led Bombings Continue to Decimate Yemen; Humanitarian Crises Explodes

The coalition of air forces led by Saudi Arabia ostensibly fighting against the Iranian-supported Shiite rebels that sent the government of President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi into exile in 2014 continues to be the single-most destructive force decimating the nation since it entered the fray in March 2015. On Saturday, coalition jets killed at least 60 people in the port city of Hodeidah, while the humanitarian crisis spirals upward. It is now being reported that more than 370,000 children face malnutrition — a lethal condition that is faced by some 1.2 million Yemeni according to the UN agency UNICEF. The World Food Program reported that almost half of all of the nation’s children are stunted – a sign of malnutrition. While the need is to feed 7 million people per month – half of the total population — relief agencies are able to reach fewer than 6 million and that is without delivering adequate quantities of food. The total death toll since 2014 is over 10,000 and millions have been displaced from their homes according to the United Nations.
