Tariq A. Al Maeena, a veteran Saudi journalist considered a liberal and a confidant of Salman, the King of Saudi Arabia, published an entreaty directed at the “people of Israel” over the weekend, headlined, “What Happened to the Arab Peace Plan [1]?”
“It is a misfortune that the peace plan envisioned by an Arab ruler, which would have provided Israel all the security it needed, has been allowed to wither away. It is a tragedy not just for the Arabs, but also for the Jews of the region,” he writes.
