Sky News Reports Khashoggi’s Body Parts Discovered; One Report Places them in Saudi Garden

Britain’s Sky News is reporting that the body of missing Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who is believed to have been murdered by Saudi agents inside the Istanbul consulate, has been located in the garden of the Saudi Consul-General’s Istanbul home. A second news source claims two suitcases filled with Khashoggi’s personal belongings were recovered from a Saudi diplomatic vehicle by Turkish police. The report contradicts remarks Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made to parliament earlier on Tuesday when he asked rhetorically, “Where’s the body?” He nevertheless remarked that Khashoggi’s killing was “ferocious” and said the Turks demanded the Saudis extradite suspects to Turkish jurisdiction. Meanwhile, most of the details being circulated remain unsubstantiated information offered by sources claiming to have access to intelligence reports. Saudi officials have been inconsistent in their version of events, at one point claiming Khashoggi died in a “fist-fight” that resulted in eighteen suspects being taken into custody and some high-ranking security officials being dismissed – a version of events seemingly accepted by few, if any. Most of what seems to be known comes from the Turkish president and his minions, but he, too, is seen as having a vested interest in an outcome that tars the Saudis. Some leaked security videos have shown Khashoggi entering the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul and a clearly different man exiting while wearing Khashoggi’s clothing sometime later in what has been dismissed as a pathetic attempt to manufacture facts.
