Source of Wedding Slaughter in Yemen remains Unclear

Just who fired the projectiles that landed in a Yemeni wedding party on Tuesday remains unclear, but there is no doubt about the carnage and loss of life as the death toll is now passing 131. The Saudi-led coalition has denied responsibility although the family holding he wedding reception is affiliated with the Iranian-backed Shiite Houthis, the Saudis’ opponent in the fighting for control of Yemen. The deadly incident took place in the Red Sea village of Al-Wahijah, near the port of Al-Mokha. Hospital sources report that many of the dead and wounded are women and children. Since the Saudi campaign began at the end of March, some 4,500 have been killed, more than half of whom are civilians.
