Sudan Takes ‘Revenge’ on International Criminal Court

As the International Criminal Court continues to pursue its battle to bring to trial Sudan’s president, ‘Umar Al-Bashir, Khartoum has jailed a man for spying for the court. Muhammad Al-Sari could face execution. The Sudanese court found him guilty of spying on special police officers in the pay of the man who is now Sudan’s minister of humanitarian affairs, Ahmad Haroun. Haroun is also wanted by the ICC. Sudan does not recognize the authority of the ICC and several Arab and African nations are trying to block moves to have Al-Bashir put on trial for alleged war crimes.
