A suicide bomber disguised as a recruit walked into a police station in the Swat Valley, Pakistan, and blew himself up on Sunday, killing 12 cadets. The attack came in an area in which government forces have conducted continuous raids against the Taliban that were termed “successful.” Nevertheless, Taliban forces continue to attack and demonstrate their ability to carry out raids notwithstanding government operations. 22 Pakistani border guards died in a suicide bombing last Thursday at the main crossing point between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
