Israel wasted no time in retaliating for the firing of two missiles into its territory on the Golan Heights on Saturday. Although the rockets failed to cause any injuries or damage, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said he intends to make very clear that he will not tolerate any violence emanating from Israel’s hostile neighbor. Using fighter jets and attack helicopters, Jerusalem’s air force struck at a number of targets including artillery and air defense systems. Reports from Syria indicate three Syrian soldiers were killed and another seven were wounded. To put the operation in perspective, forces from the Tehran-backed Hizbullah terrorists and actual Iranian troops were targeted in the Quneitra area, the territory closest to Israel’s border.
