Syrian Opposition Sources Tell of Israeli Air Strike at Convoy Headed for Hizbullah

Israeli war planes struck at a convoy laden with arms bound for Hizbullah in the eastern Golan Heights in the early hours of Saturday morning according to Syrian opposition sources. The attack, which targeted a Syrian military base near Quneitra, destroyed rocket launchers headed for Hizbullah bases in Lebanon. Four previous attacks by the Israeli military have targeted Syrian territory since the beginning of the year. Each one has been directed at destroying weapons before they are able to be deployed. The last attack destroyed a shipment of Yakhont missiles that arrived from Russia. The umbrella opposition organization, the Syrian National Coalition, has condemned the mass-killing of 50 captured regime soldiers by rebels in Khan Al-Assal, a town near Aleppo in northern Syria over the weekend. 150 soldiers of the Syrian army died in the fighting, about 50 killed in a “collective execution” carried out by rebel forces. The act has reportedly been confirmed by video footage. The Coalition has launched an investigation.
