An attack on an Assad-regime-run prison in the city of Idlib in northwest Syria on Saturday succeeded in liberating at least 100 comrades incarcerated in the facility. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which monitors the fighting in Syria, told the AFP news agency that despite the escape of the 100 prisoners, rebels have not been able to take control of the prison and in the battle, lost at least 10 fighters. Although the regime still holds the prison, the opposition troops are in control of most of Idlib province. On Friday, at least 168 deaths were added to the two-year death toll of more than 62,000.
