Syrian Regime Bombs ISIS-Stronghold of Raqqa; More than 60 Killed

The Syrian air force, loyal to President Bashar Al-Assad, bombed the town of Raqqa on Tuesday, with more than 60 deaths reported. Raqqa is considered to be the home base of the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist organization. The air strikes on the city underscore the confusion surrounding the conflict, with Assad’s troops bombing civilian targets as well as ISIS positions, while the US-led coalition targets ISIS but does not interfere with Assad’s aggression against his own people that has left more than 200,000 dead and millions displaced from their homes. For its part, ISIS recently posted a video showing the beheadings of more than a dozen Syrian army officers in Aleppo.
