Syrians were shot and killed in at least three areas of the country on Wednesday and the Al-Asad regime continues its assault on demonstrators. Five died near Homs, and there were reports of other fatalities in northwest Syria and in the city of Hama. According to the BBC, soldiers continued to round up protestors. Dozens of students were reportedly taken into custody in the southern town of Jassem. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which monitors the situation, reported that Syrian troops removed patients from a Homs hospital.
