Teen Charged with Making Threatening Phone Calls Charged in Israel, USA

Less than one week after indictments were filed in two Federal District Courts in the United States against the 18-year old dual US-Israeli citizen charged with making hundreds of threatening phone calls to Jewish Community Centers throughout the country, charges were also filed against him in the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s court. While the American charges alleged some 250 threatening phone calls, the Israeli prosecutors’ claims read like a shopping list of criminal activity including more than 2,000 threatening phone calls to Jewish institutions, Israeli diplomatic venues, airlines, schools, malls and police stations. Extortion, hacking, money laundering and causing public panic are among the crimes Michael Ron David Kadar reportedly committed. The picture drawn by the bi-national set of indictments paints a picture of a determined criminal rather than that of the autistic youth with a brain tumor and impaired abilities to reason mentally that his family is suggesting. He is also charged with threatening to kill a US Defense Department’s children and extorting a US Senator who criticized the threat-maker before he was identified.
