Teen Indicted for Telephone Threats to Hundreds of Jewish Institutions

Indictments have been filed in two US Federal District Courts against an 18-year old Israeli man with dual US citizenship accused of making hundreds of threatening phone calls to Jewish institutions, primarily in the United States. In the Orlando Federal Court alone, defendant Michael Ron David Kadar was accused of making 245 phone calls, while in a second indictment filed in Athens, Georgia, three additional threatening calls are referenced. The defendant is still in Israel apparently pending extradition proceedings that until now awaited the formal indictment, although the Justice Department has not yet said whether it will do so.  According to his family, the accused is autistic and suffers from a brain tumor that prevents him from controlling his actions or from “thinking straight.” According to local media, his Israel-based attorney has said that his client has the emotional intelligence of a five-year old. Nevertheless, Kadar seemed to act carefully and knowingly as he used electronic voice-altering equipment to make his threatening calls which he recorded and filed along with press clippings referring to his threats.
