Tehran to Host Alternative Conference

Palestinian terrorist organizations opposing the direction Israeli-Palestinian peace talks are expected to follow in the aftermath of the Annapolis conference will meet in Tehran. The meeting will take place in "a week or two" according to a government spokesman, referring to Iran‘s invited guests as, "the Palestinian groups that are struggling for the freedom of their land." Iranian spokesman Gholam Hossein Elham said the purpose of the alternative gathering was to demonstrate that, "The Annapolis conference is not representing the Palestinians and is not talking on their behalf, but on the contrary, is moving against their rights." Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadi Nejad was unsuccessful in his attempts to convince Saudi Arabia to boycott Annapolis.
