Telegraph: Former Iranian Diplomat Confirms North Korean Nuke Help

Britian’s Telegraph reported on Wednesday that a former Iranian diplomat has revealed his role in facilitating North Korean assistance in developing nuclear weapons. The paper quoted the former foreign ministry employee telling of his role in allowing North Korean scientists and military officials to enter Iran without going through formalities such as passports or visas. Mohammed Reza Heydari told the newspaper that the same procedure was extended to Palestinians associated with the Hamas terrorist organization. He was quoted as saying, “We had the instructions to forego any visa and passport inspections for Palestinians belonging to Hamas and North Korean military and engineering staff who visit Iran on regular basis.” The North Koreans enabled Iran to extend the range of its ballistic missiles and worked on developing a nuclear bomb. The Iranian was assigned to the Iranian Embassy in Oslo when he quit in protest of the government’s policies following last year’s controversial elections. Norway granted Heydari and his family asylum. He also told the Telegraph that Iran is actively recruiting nuclear scientists worldwide, with emphasis on Africa.
