In what Israeli police describe as a terrorist attack, a Palestinian man early Monday ploughed a stolen taxi into a group of police and security guards as he attempted to crash into a Tel Aviv nightclub frequented by teens and then attacked people with a knife. At least eight were injured, one critically, in the attack carried out by a Palestinian from the West Bank city of Nablus. The attack at the club Ha’oman 17 took place as over 1,000 high school students were celebrating an end-of-summer party at the club. Tensions between Palestinians and Israelis have increased since an attack by Arab terrorists on an Israeli bus near the border with Egypt that killed eight Israelis and seven of the terrorists. Israeli retaliatory strikes on the Gaza Strip sparked rocket and mortar attacks into Israel that left 26 Palestinians and one Israeli dead.
