In an early morning assault Monday in Dera Ismail Khan district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan, a terrorist attack at the Chaudhwan police station claimed the lives of at least 10 policemen, with six others wounded. Armed with sniper guns, automatic rifles, and hand grenades, a group of unidentified assailants launched a deadly raid, according to police sources. The attack prompted an immediate response from police and security forces, who transported the casualties to a nearby hospital. Among the fallen were six members of the Elite Force of Police from the Swabi district, recently stationed in the region to bolster security ahead of the upcoming general elections on Thursday.
