Turkey Arrests 71 ISIS Members in Istanbul

Turkish security forces have arrested 71 alleged ISIS members in the city of Istanbul and elsewhere while its army says it captured 17 ISIS fighters trying to enter Syria across its border with Turkey. In recent days, security forces have launched a crackdown on suspected ISIS locations throughout the country, claiming significant amounts of explosives and demolition devices had been seized during the various raids. As Sunday’s national election nears, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been seeking to lump the Kurdish Workers Party (PKK) together with ISIS. Media, which is fearful of Erdogan and his oppressive measures against media outlets considered not to be friendly to his regime, is reporting that ISIS is planning large scale attacks intended to disrupt the election on Sunday.
