Ankara says it has killed around three-dozen Kurdistan People’s Party (PKK) fighters in shelling into northern Iraq. The claim was made as Iraqi officials traveled to Turkey to hold talks on what can be done to counter the PKK rebels. Baghdad is denying it has agreed to the Turkish demand that it capture and hand over key PKK leaders. Ankara has issued a list of six demands to the Iraqis that it says, if met, will prevent a Turkish invasion of northern Iraq. Ankara insists those behind attacks on its soldiers and civilians are holed up in Iraq.
