2 East Jerusalem Construction Workers Fall 42 Stories in Fatal Accident at Tel Aviv Building Site

Two construction workers in Tel Aviv fell to their deaths in a 42-story fall at a construction site for a luxury apartment building. The two men are East Jerusalem residents Ghazi Abu Sbeitan and Ahmad Ziyad al-Sayyad. The accident occurred when a mechanical scaffolding platform collapsed out from under their feet, Haaretz reported. Their deaths bring to seven the number of construction workers killed in Israel since the beginning of the year, according to the report. A worker was killed in a similar accident involving mechanical scaffolding at a site in Tel Aviv last year. The Israel Police have opened an investigation into the accident, and the construction site has been closed for the next few days.
