The Bush administration is charging that the Lebanon-based Hizbullah terrorist organization is training fighters for Moqtada Al-Sadr’s Mahdi Army in Iraq. The charge was revealed by The New York Times on Monday. As many as 2,000 fighters have already undergone training with the cooperation of Syrian officials, according to the report. During last summer’s war between Israel and the Hizbullah, a Mahdi commander said 300 of its troops were fighting side by side with Hizbullah in Lebanon.
