A 19-year-old Jewish Israeli has been indicted in Florida, Georgia and the District of Columbia for hate crimes connected primarily to threats made against U.S.-based Jewish community centers. The suspect, whose name remains under a gag order, was arrested last year in Israel after American authorities accused him of making thousands of false threats from 2016-2017, including against airports and schools. Notably, he is alleged to have made bomb threats last March against both the Israeli Embassy in Washington and the Anti-Defamation League, a Jewish watchdog group. The series of threats to Jewish locations, in particular, forced widespread evacuations and raised fears of a resurgence in anti-Semitism. The man is currently in Israel awaiting trial and it is unclear whether he will be extradited to the U.S.
