UK’s Guardian: Saudi Palace Coup to Oust King Salman Under Way

The British newspaper The Guardian is reporting that a palace coup is being fomented to oust Saudi King Salman and replace him, presumably with one of the kingdom’s princes. The newspaper claims that one of the princes sent letters to members of the royal family urging action to overthrow the King, whom the unnamed author of the letters described as being “not in a stable condition” and claimed the royal family’s next generation along with influential citizens are in agreement that unless Salman is removed “the country will go to disaster.” Apparently, the Hajj disaster which left more than 800 dead had a strong effect on public opinion of the nation’s ruler. According to The Guardian, the letter urges the thirteen sons of the late King Abdullah to unite against his successor and push him aside in a palace coup and after that, choose a new government from within the ruling family.
