UN Rejects Israeli Accusations That Lebanon Turning Blind Eye To Hizbullah Violations

After meeting with high-ranking officials in Beirut, the head of the United Nations peacekeeping force in southern Lebanon stressed that the country is committed to upholding a longstanding agreement to prevent Hizbullah from operating close to the Israeli border. The assertion comes a day after the Israel Defense Forces accused the Iranian proxy of operating a fake environmental NGO in order to illegally maintain a presence in the buffer zone between the two countries. Jerusalem increasingly has sounded the alarm over the threat Hizbullah poses in Lebanon—where it dominates the political arena—amid reports Tehran delivered advanced GPS components to the Shiite terror group that will enable it to transform inaccurate projectiles into precision-guided missiles, thereby increasing the threat to the Jewish state. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu recently revealed satellite imagery of three sites in the Lebanese capital where Hizbullah, at the behest of its Iranian masters, allegedly built underground missile manufacturing facilities. According to analysts, the weapons produced are capable of hitting within a few meters their intended target and can reach almost anywhere in Israel.
