Uzbeki Confesses to Istanbul Slaughter of 39

The 39-year old Uzbeki man who opened fire killing 39 New Year’s Eve revelers in an Istanbul nightclub has provided Turkish authorities with a complete confession to the murders following his arrest. Abdulgadir Masharipov was apprehended when police stormed the apartment in Istanbul in which he was hiding. Officials reported that Masharipov had at least two weapons and a supply of ammunition, along with about $200,000 in euros, all of which were confiscated. Police also report that his fingerprints matched those known to belong to the shooter. Several others were arrested at the apartment. The New Year’s slaughter was the first terror attack in Turkey for which ISIS has claimed responsibility and Turkish authorities verify that to be the case.
