Video Footage Shows Syrian Rebels Behead Young Boy in “Mistake”

The footage, first shown on social media, showed a Syrian rebel group beheading a scared boy lying in the back of a truck. The rebel group involved, Nour al-Din Zenky Movement, said the boy was a prisoner from a pro-regime militia force made up mostly of Palestinians in Syria – and that he was captured from an unofficial refugee camp near war-torn Aleppo. The militia force, called Liwa al-Quds, denied the boy had anything to do with the rebel group. The Zenky movement posted a statement on their Facebook page calling the killing an “individual mistake” and said it would investigate what it called “the human rights abuses.” It said the men involved had been arrested and are being investigated. The group has been engaged in a bloody battle against troops loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
