The euphoric relationship between the Trump administration and the pro-Israel community has been interrupted by the administration’s support for the Palestine Liberation Organization’s position in a lawsuit brought by victims of terror. After a judgement of more than $600 million was set aside by a Federal Appeals Court, the administration supported the PLO’s position rather than that of the families who lost loved ones to Palestinian terror as the Supreme Court prepared to hear the case. The decision of the justices could be made known as early as Monday. In rejecting the victims’ appeal, the Federal Court held that a random act of terror could not be seen as an intentional strike at an American citizen. The plaintiffs argued that if it was so there would be no case which qualified under the 1992 Anti-Terrorism Act. The administration remained in agreement with its predecessor, telling the court that nothing in the case begs its intervention.
