Wife of Palestinian Prisoner Gives Birth from Smuggled Sperm

The wife of a Palestinian prisoner in an Israeli jail has given birth to a baby boy after she was artificially inseminated with her husband’s sperm, according to a Palestinian prisoners group. The Ahrar Center for Prisoners Studies and Human Rights said in a statement hat the wife of Nabil Maslama, who has been in Israeli custody for 15 years, gave birth over the weekend in the West Bank town of Hebron. The group said that Maslama smuggled his sperm from prison two years ago, and this was his wife’s second attempt to get pregnant. In another recent case, a Palestinian woman gave birth to twins after her husband’s sperm was smuggled out. Ahrar said at least 19 wives of Palestinian prisoners have given birth in the last few years.
