Join the Tel Aviv Review of Books and Jerusalism for an exclusive screening of the new documentary The Fourth Window, on the life and work of Amos Oz, to be followed by a live Q+A with the director, Yair Qedar, and Tel Aviv Review of Books editor Sam Sussman.
The Fourth Window takes us behind the international success story of Amos Oz and into the tumultuous life experiences that shaped his work, including the formative death of his mother when Oz was twelve. Through a series of conversations with his latest biographer and a tapestry of biographical passages, literature, and conversations with significant people in his life, Amos Oz tells his last story.
In order to watch the film and to join the Q+A, you need to register for this event. Spaces are limited! Registered guests will be able to watch the film at their leisure online, starting from Wednesday 9th February (instructions will be sent via email). The film will also be available until the morning after the event. Registered guests will also receive a link to join the Q+A, which will be held on Zoom and broadcast live via Facebook on February 13th at 20:00 (Israel Time).

The event is free, though we recommend a donation of $10 per guest, so as to help us cover the costs of the film screening. Any profits will go towards future Tel Aviv Review of Books and Jerusalism activities.

Yair Qedar is an Israeli filmmaker and civil rights activist. His academic training on 20th-century Hebrew literature propelled him into The Hebrews — a documentary project on the Hebrew and Jewish literary canon, centered on filmic portraits of Hebrew writers from the 17th century to recent days. Sixteen feature-length documentary films were made in the project so far, winning over 18 awards.
Sam Sussman’s writing has appeared in Harper’s, Dissent, The Forward, Haaretz and the Tel Aviv Review of Books, where he is a Contributing Editor.
