Cairokee Rocks Alexandria

Cairokee, Egypt’s mega-successful rock band and game-changers in Egypt’s music scene, first started performing their favorite covers in both English and Arabic at various gigs around the country, using the name “Black Star.” Later the band decided on the name “Cairokee,” a combination of the words “Cairo” and “karaoke,” meaning that they are singing along with Cairo. Among the group’s main musical influences are Pink Floyd and The Beatles. Cairokee came to prominence following the Egyptian Revolution of 2011 due to its politically inspired lyrics and protest songs. It currently consists of Amir Eid (vocals and rhythm guitar), Tamer Hashem (drums), Sherif Hawary (lead guitar), Adam El-Alfy (bass guitar) and Sherif Mostafa (keyboard).

On November 29, Cairokee will give an unforgettable concert at Nady El-Etehad Elgeded in Alexandria. Get ready, Alexandrians: These guys are here to make you rock all night long.
