7-8pm An introduction to “Cry for Hope” with John Howard, with time for questions. Learn more about this important call for action, from Palestinian churches, and how we can respond.
Phoebe Rison is a Humanitarian and Human Rights specialist who works at Sabeel -Kairos, a small and energetic Christian UK charity committed to supporting peace and justice in the Holy Land. She and her mama Nadia together run The Olive Tree Kitchen https://theolivetreekitchen.wordpress.com/ a popular cooking blog that uses food to talk about their Palestinian family history, culture, Palestinian politics and human rights.
Rev John Howard is a Methodist Minister who has served as a Mission Partner in Bethlehem. He is on the Board of Trustees of Sabeel-Kairos UK. We hope John will be speaking with us from Palestine.
Cooking with Hope for Palestine is being run by Kairos Sheffield, which is part of Sabeel-Kairos. Palestinians are struggling with the impact of Covid 19 on top of the ongoing occupation. As well as some fun cooking Palestinian food, learning more about life in Palestine and the Palestinians’ Cry for Hope, it would be good too, to raise funds towards Sabeel-Kairos’ Investing for Peace Campaign. They challenge UK churches to divest their funds from the Israeli Occupation of Palestine and the Palestinians. With encouraging recent successes, it has potential to build on these with your support.
We’re hoping that many of you who are joining us for Cooking with Hope for Palestine will be able to make a donation towards this campaign. A suggested donation is £10 – but more, or less, is fine! And if you’re unable to do this at the moment, no problem – you’re still very welcome.
