DeserTech Launching and Competition Kick-off

We are excited to announce the launching of the DeserTech Community! Join us to learn more about what the community has to offer.
The DeserTech community aims to develop the Israeli DeserTech ecosystem and reshape Israeli ag-tech, water-tech, renewable energy and infrastructure technologies to meet emerging global desertification needs through the implementation of groundbreaking technologies.
The DeserTech community is a joint initiative of the Merage Foundation Israel and the Israel Innovation Institute. The Community seeks to transform the Negev region, and the city of Be’er Sheva in particular, into an entrepreneurial and technological hub for innovations that enable sustainable living in arid climates.
This will be achieved by:
- Connecting the different actors in the DeserTech ecosystem (entrepreneurs, academy, government, business, global players, etc.) in the Negev and nationwide.
- Exposing business opportunities for startups in the industry
- Designing open innovation processes with corporations and public organizations from Israel and the world

In the meetup, we will present the community’s vision and goals. Most importantly, we will kick-off our Merage DeserTech Competition for groundbreaking technologies in this field. Our partners: Mekorot, Netivei Israel, Netafim and ENEL are waiting to hear from you and present their expectations for working with startups.
What are we looking for? Startups with breakthrough solutions for desert challenges or optimal use of desert assets in desert agriculture, water-tech, renewable energy and infrastructure.
