Dr Reem El Mutwalli will be joined on the Sofa by Moza Saeed Khalfan Saeed Alhanawi and Nouf Tawfiq Yousef Almubarak to present an Introduction to Emirati Traditional Dress.

This session will take place in Arabic.

This webinar is in collaboration with our partners of the Office of Public and Cultural Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Abu Dhabi and the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Manama, Bahrain.

  • Moza Saeed Khalfan Saeed Al-Hanawi: Born in Al Ain (UAE), graduated from the UAE University in 2010 with a degree in Political Science. Since 2018 she has been the Head of Economic, Political and Media Affairs Section in the UAE Embassy – Bahrain. After her graduation from UAE University she joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in July 2010. From 2016-2018, she was the head of the East Asia and Pacific Department. In May 2018, she worked as the Chargé d’Affaires in the UAE embassy in Vietnam.
  • Nouf Tawfiq Yousef Almubara: Economic, Political and Media Affairs Specialist at the UAE Embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Prior to this role, she headed the Social Affairs section at the Human Rights Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and was a member of the UAE National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking. She received her MA in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University in the United States in 2016. While pursuing her degree, she focused on humanitarian and migration studies and conducted research on labor migration in the UAE. She also holds a BA in International Studies from Zayed University where she graduated with honors and received the President’s Distinguished Student Scholarship. She is an alumna of NYUAD’s Sheikh Mohamed Scholars Program and a member of its alumni board. She previously worked at the National Archives and as a teaching assistant at Zayed University.
  • Dr. Reem El Mutwalli: Published author, lead curator and public speaker. With over 30 years of experience, she is an expert consultant in Islamic art and architecture, interior design, historic dress and UAE heritage. She is also the founder of the Zay Initiative. A non-profit UK registered initiative advancing the preservation of cultural heritage, through the collection, documentation and digital archiving of Arab historical attire and their stories. Our goal is to empower and sustain global cross-cultural dialogue to inspire creative minds.
