Dr. Runoko Rashidi and the Treasures of Egypt

Larchmere Arts is pleased to present historian and anthropologist Dr. Runoko Rashidi as he brings images of his extensive collection of photos and knowledge of Nile Valley civilization to Cleveland. In October and November of 2019, he traveled to Egypt and the Sudan with two separate groups of Africans from the diaspora. During the course of the 21-day journey, they covered Egypt and Sudan from the south of Africa’s largest country (Sudan) all the way to the Mediterranean Sea and Alexandria, Egypt. Along the way, he obtained photographs from many of those locations to add to his already extensive collection of photographs of artifacts from museums around the world from the ancient civilizations of Kemet, Nubia and the Nile Valley.

Photographer Vince Robinson accompanied him on this expedition and will also present some of his images. This two-day event will cover Egypt on February 10 and Sudan on February 11. It will be held at Larchmere Arts, 12726 Larchmere Blvd, Cleveland, Ohio 44120.

Admission to this event is $25. Those who attend on February 10 will receive free admission to the February 11 event. For further information, text DRRTIX to +1 (216) 780-2470.
