Georgetown University Hosting Discussion on Jordan’s Online Media Regulations
The Center for Contemporary Arab Studies at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., will host a discussion titled, “In the Name of Cybersecurity: Controlling the Online Public Sphere in Jordan.” The event, scheduled for September 12 (6:30-8:00 pm) at in the Intercultural Center, will feature Reem Al-Masri, a journalist from the Jordanian 7iber news organization . She will speak about Amman’s apparent clampdown on the Internet and the potential ramifications on freedom of speech.
