Reflections on the role of lawyers during revolution after a decade of uprisings in the Middle East.

About this event

Since 2011 the Middle East has witnessed popular uprisings and revolutions in a wide range of countries. Lawyers have often been at the forefront of these radical movements for change, from Tunisia, Syria, Egypt and Libya in 2011 to Lebanon, Sudan and Algeria today. They have also paid a heavy price during periods of repression, as the persecution of radical lawyers in Egypt by the military regime demonstrates. Join us to learn about the role of lawyers in revolution and to mark the anniversary of the 2011 uprisings.

We will have the privilege of learning from the frontline experience of the following practitioners:
