The Media Line led over twenty years ago in pioneering the American independent news agency in the Middle East, arguably the first in the region. We have always stayed true to our mission: to provide you with contextual sourced and trustworthy news. In an age of fake news masquerading as journalism, The Media Line plays a crucial role in providing fact-based news that deserves your support.

We're proud of the dozens of young students we've trained in our Press and Policy Student Program who will form the vanguard of the next generation of journalists to the benefit of countless millions of news readers.

Look out for exciting new additions as we enter 2022.

We thank our loyal readers and wish you all the happiest of holidays.

Memorial for Bernard Lewis and Requiem for Mideast Studies

Date and time: May 28 at 10 am Eastern Daylight Time (UTC-4)

Zoom registration.

Featuring: Martin Kramer, Harold Rhode and Buntzie Churchill

Bernard Lewis, a distinguished scholar, public intellectual and author of scores of books, articles, lectures and essays, was a true scholar of the Middle East and represented the discipline of Middle East Studies prior to the Edward Saidian revolution, when it was still in its “Golden Age,” and before it became so highly politicized. Professor Lewis had a remarkably profound influence on the way America and the West had viewed the Middle East and constantly met with world leaders who would call upon his vast knowledge of the area. Three individuals, who had known him closely and in different ways will be presenting: Martin Kramer, founding president of Shalem College in Jerusalem, and Koret Distinguished Fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, former adviser to the Pentagon and Middle East scholar, and Buntzie Churchill, longtime companion and editor of many of Professor Lewis’ books will be giving a fascinating talk, about the life of Mr. Lewis and the death of Middle East Studies, as it ought to be taught.
