A fresh perspective on the Crusades from Eastern and Western points of view.

Napoleon once said, “History is [simply] a set of lies agreed upon.” Lies or no lies, history is always told through a particular lens, and to be sure, depending on the perspective a very different story emerges. This is especially true when those two perspectives are from completely different cultural, linguistic and religious points of view. The Crusades, that turbulent and often violent period of history surrounding the Holy Land during the Middle Ages, is a story that is told from both the Western and Eastern perspectives; the one Christian and the other Muslim.

Mark David Luttio, Ph.D., professor of religious studies, Lynn University will present a fresh perspective on the Crusades from both sides.
