Virtual Climb and Guided Tour of Masada in Israel

Tickets ($20+$2.85 fee) here [1].

Join a virtual guide – live from Israel -on an experience of this of a mountain that served as a refuge against the Romans in 73 CE.

Initially built by Herod as a stronghold against perceived (and real!) enemies, Masada served as a refuge and palace for himself and his entourage. After Herod’s death, the fortress was abandoned until reused by ancient Jewish warriors.

In 73 CE, three years after the Romans destroyed and burned Jerusalem and its holy Jewish Temple, the remnants of the Jewish revolt held out for months against the onslaught of a Roman Legion. This Desert Fortress tells us a dramatic story making it one of the best-known and most-visited sites in Israel.

Today, we are joined by our guide – live in Israel – who will lead us on a virtual tour by climbing up the snake path, visiting the Herodian-era bathhouse and palaces, as well as the fascinating water system designed to keep water flowing to the hilltop.
