Join professors Ilan Stavans and Alan Astro for a conversation on the life and times of Yiddish in Latin America and the way it has expressed the challenges faced and achievements realized by Ashkenazic immigrants through the decades.
Eighteen years ago, Professor Astro compiled the first anthology of Latin American Yiddish writings translated into English: Yiddish South of the Border: An Anthology of Latin American Yiddish Writing, which Professor Stavans wrote the introduction to, and which has recently been reprinted.
