Visiting the Jerusalem site known as the “Kishle,” located adjacent to the Tower of David Museum complex, is like taking walk through history. Archaeological excavations have unearthed remains from as early as the 8th century BCE, along with remnants from King Herod’s palace.

Under the Ottoman Turks, the “Kishle” served as a military compound, and during the time of the British Mandate was used as a police station and prison where some members of the Jewish underground were incarcerated.
Other important discoveries at the site include a wall from the First Temple Period as well as artifacts from the Second Temple Period.
