As dedicated teams of Israelis were picking up body parts in Tel Aviv’s Carmel market, Hamas was seeking a songwriter to compose the terror movement’s official hymn.
It is rather odd writing this item as I listen to the news. The death toll is rising as is the number of injured.
At the same time no doubt, in Gaza and Jenin the terrorists are chanting and handing out candies as a sign of victory.
And what are they celebrating? Did they attack Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s home, or the office of the chief of staff of the Israel Defense Forces? They have killed and maimed Israel’s poor and elderly, the typical clientele of Tel Aviv’s downtown market.
This is what is usually called indiscriminate terrorism
What a terrible phrase. Nothing could be further from the truth.

The terrorists are deliberately targeting the innocents. They deliberately blow themselves up on buses full of kids on their way to school. They purposefully detonate their devices in cafes frequented by families and pensioners.
No, this is anything but indiscriminate.
And at the same time, Hamas is looking for its songwriter, for it feels the need to underline its ‘victories.’ It is not enough for the evil to be satisfied with its actions. The devil seeks to spread the word, to encourage others to be sucked into his web.
Israel may have done many wrongs, but it has never targeted innocents. It is not Israeli policy to walk into a Gaza market and blow up a stall there and all those who are passing by.
Nor does Israel ask pregnant mothers to become human bombs.
The evil of the enemy, not just of Israel but of all in the world, including the Palestinians, is without limits. And while Hamas and Islamic Jihad have so far restricted their message to within Israel’s borders, that will change one day, and in the not too far distance.
It is no coincidence that this bombing came in Yassir Arafat’s absence. Hamas wants to have a say in the future of the Palestinians, and it maintains that terror is the way to make the world sit up and listen.
A hymn to evil. A hymn to destruction of all that is dear to free men and women.
Hamas can win power in the Palestinian areas. And now it is writing the song that could become the anthem of the Palestinians; an anthem of blood.
If music be the food of hate, it must be stopped.
