Hizbullah Demands Immediate Prisoner Swap

Hizbullah head Hasan Na’srallah says his organization will not tolerate further delays to the exchange of prisoners with Israel.

He issued the warning during a speech in Lebanon on Wednesday.

He was speaking on the same day that a group of former Israeli POWs issued a statement saying Israel must not release a key Hizbullah member until the Lebanese-based terror group hands over information on missing Israeli navigator Ron Arad.

Arad went missing 17 years ago.

Since then Israel has been trying to ascertain his fate.

Hizbullah maintains it is not holding him, but that it does have vital information as to his wellbeing and whereabouts.

The ex-POWs say Israel must retain Mu’stafa Dirani at least until it knows what happened to Arad.

Israel is currently negotiating the release from Hizbullah of businessman Elhanan Tennenbaum and what are believed to be the remains of three Israeli soldiers.

In return Israel is prepared to release as many as 400 Arab security prisoners, including Lebanese, Palestinians and Egyptians.
