The Israel Defense Forces is completing work on its broadcasting center that will be used in the event of Iraqi attacks on Israel.

The following is the text of an IDF statement:

The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit is establishing a new wartime broadcasting studio in close proximity to an underground bunker that will be directly linked to Israeli television and radio stations. Film crews, belonging to the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit, will be sent to the field to take the first pictures of an incoming missile strike.

IDF Spokesperson, Brigadier General Ruth Yaron stated that: “On Monday, February 10, the broadcasting station will be completed. Should the need arise, the first item shown to viewers will be the code word “Iron Wall” and commencing announcement indicating that Israel is under attack. The announcement will air in multiple languages accompanied by a siren, which will signal the population to enter their shelters. The Home Front Command will then broadcast further instructions to the public.”

According to Brig. Gen. Yaron, “My job is to explain the situation to the public and to present the military’s assessment of ongoing events.”
