Top officials from the two bordering countries have met several times in recent months. The latest meeting was held on January, between the Indian and Pakistani foreign secretaries, where the two discussed the Kashmir dispute and other peace and security issues.
The upcoming round of talks will begin on March 27 with discussions on bilateral trade relations. Talks on the eradication of terrorism and drug trafficking will be held in the first week of May in Islamabad, followed by discussions between the defense secretaries on security-related issues on May 23.
The foreign secretaries of Pakistan and India will meet in July in New Delhi at the conclusion of the third phase of the composite dialogue to review the outcome of the talks and present their reports to their foreign ministers.
