Arab countries should not support the United States and Israel in any way, Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah ‘Ali Khamanai said on Tuesday.
Khamanai’s comments came on the heels of statements made by unnamed Iranian diplomats who were irritated by the decisions of Bahrain and Kuwait to participate in a U.S. naval drill later this month.
An “informed source” in Iran’s Foreign Ministry called the military maneuvers dangerous and said the joint exercises were “not in line with the security and stability of the Persian Gulf,” the Iranian news agency IRNA reported.
Khamanai called for Muslim unity and urged Arab states and Muslim nations not to take any action that would help the U.S. and the Zionists “achieve their treacherous goals.”
