Hundreds of students demonstrated outside the British Embassy in the Iranian capital Tehran on Monday, protesting against the occupation in the neighboring Iraq.
Around 500 students gathered outside the embassy and condemned damage caused to a Shi’ite shrine in the Iraqi town A-Najaf during clashes between allied forces and Iraqi fighters, and also the abuse of Iraqi soldiers, according to news reports.

Police arrested some students who tried to push their way into the embassy.
According to news reports, American and British flags were burnt as protesters called “Death to America” and “Death to Britain.”
The majority of Iran’s population are Shi’ite Muslims.
